Concrete Sidewalk with Drainage Built Right at New Underwood School

Not every concrete job is the same. This one at New Underwood School had some real elevation challenges to work through - and getting the grade wrong would have meant water sitting against the foundation instead of moving away from it. That's the kind of thing that causes long-term damage, so we took it seriously from the start.

When you're working alongside a building like this, drainage isn't optional. It's the whole point. We mapped out the elevation changes carefully and poured the sidewalk so water naturally flows away from the structure and toward where it belongs. Clean finish, solid edges, and a slope that actually does its job.

This is what sidewalk and pathway work really comes down to. Yeah, it needs to look good - but more importantly, it needs to function. A walkway that pools water next to a foundation is a liability waiting to happen. We build ours so that problem never shows up.
