A driveway doesn't fail all at once. It starts with a crack here, a heaved section there - and before long you're looking at a surface that's actively breaking apart underfoot. That's exactly what we were dealing with here in Sturgis. The old concrete had reached the end of its life, and patching it wasn't going to cut it anymore. A full tear-out and replacement was the only real fix.

Demo day is always the starting point. We brought in a mini excavator to break out and pull the old slabs, clearing everything down to clean, stable ground. Once the base was prepped and formed up, the ready-mix truck pulled in and we got to work. Every crew member had a role - moving concrete, raking it out, keeping the pour consistent from one end to the other.

What separates a driveway that lasts from one that doesn't is what happens during the pour itself. Proper screeding, consistent depth, clean edges - none of that is accidental. It's hands-on work that requires the crew to move fast and stay precise at the same time. That's the part you don't really see once it's all cured up, but it's what you're paying for.

The finished slab came out clean and level, with well-defined edges and a smooth broom finish. No more crumbling sections, no more tripping hazards, no more watching it get worse every season. Just a solid new driveway built to handle South Dakota weather for years down the road.

If your driveway is starting to crack, shift, or break apart, that's your sign to get ahead of it before the damage spreads. A concrete driveway replacement is one of the most straightforward investments you can make in your home - and it's one that shows the moment it's done.
